Asymmetric Digital
Subscriber Line (ADSL) internet connections are much faster than
normal dial-up modem connections, so for customers within 3.5
kilometres of the exchange in larger population centres like Port
Lincoln, it is available right now.
ADSL works over normal copper telephone lines (but oddly enough not
fibre-optic cable) so you can connect it to an existing telephone
line If you are in business, and particularly if
you have a network of computers you wish to share the internet
connection to, there is a compelling and cost effective reason to
move to ADSL. The major benefit is speed; up to 50 times
faster than a normal modem, and you don't need a separate telephone
line; ADSL can be connected through your (say) fax line and you can
still send and receive faxes even while you are browsing the internet.

A
word from Greg ... |
|
 |
|
We recommend Internode ADSL connections for a number of
key reasons; they offer an excellent service and are good value
for money; they don't charge for data that you send, they answer
the telephone with real human beings and they are interested in
what you are doing with your ADSL connection. In particular,
if you have a business network, Internode will support the shared
use of your ADSL connection.
One more thing;
when you order your ADSL connection you will need to allow for a
couple of weeks lead time, because there are changes which need to
be made at the exchange before you can connect to an ADSL service. |
