Internet Domain

An internet domain name
works much the same way as a business name in that you register a
domain name (usually based on your business name) to suit your
requirements, pay a registration fee and then pay a renewal fee
every two years in most cases. There have been significant
changes to the way the .au domain space is managed this year,
so if you have a domain name, it is important to keep up to date
with issues which may affect the use of your domain name.
Domain names are often
confused with web addresses, and this is because web addresses (and
email addresses) always include a domain name. In our case,
our domain name is lcc.com.au our web address is
www.lcc.com.au
and our email address is computers@lcc.com.au
We don't actually sell
domain names, but we do provide a service where we can assist with
the application, management and renewal of your domain name.
Registering a domain name and managing it should be as simple as
your business name, but it's not; hence the service we offer and
this web page, which will answer most of the questions you may have.

A
word from Greg ... |

If your domain name expires without renewal, there will generally
be a period of grace where you are prevented from using your
domain name for (say) 30 days, at the end of which time your
domain name will become available to whoever wants it (on a
first-in, best-dressed basis). The idea is that you will
notice that your domain name has stopped working and then do
something about it! Your emails will stop coming through and
your web page will stop working if this happens, |
