Parallel Port Expansion Options
To connect more than one parallel printer to a computer you can add a switch box externally at low cost, or you can spend a little extra and add one or two extra ports to your computer.

Add one extra parallel port to your computer which will need a spare PCI slot inside the case.

Add two extra parallel ports to your computer which will also need a spare PCI slot inside the case.  This will increase the number of parallel ports in your computer to three, which is the practical maximum for a typical computer.

Add one extra parallel port to your notebook computer; you'll need an available PCMCIA socket, however most notebook computers have two sockets.

We recommend that these products be installed by a technician, as the installation instructions are not aimed at the average computer user!  If you are happy dealing with interrupts and I/O addresses then you will be able to fit the card yourself.
