Managing McAfee Managed VirusScan |
|
The best thing about McAfee Managed
VirusScan is that it proactively checks for updates every four hours (while
you are connected to the internet) and each time you connect to
the internet.
You will find the McAfee icon (small
shield with a red V) in your System Tray which is at the bottom
right of your computer screen

If you right-click the McAfee icon, you will be presented with a
small menu

Choose Update Now to manually check for updates
Choose Managed VirusScan to bring up the following menu

Choose Scan My Computer to scan your entire computer, or choose
one of the other options to scan one or more folders.
You can also choose View PUP
Detections to check and clean spyware and/or adware from your
computer as required.

A
word from Greg ... |
|
 |
|
Your McAfee Managed VirusScan software is designed to work in the background, quietly
eliminating viruses and allowing you to get on with your work.
Each time your McAfee VirusScan software updates itself, the
date and time are logged by McAfee and if you go more than a week
without updating Windows XP will alert you to the possibility that
your antivirus software is not up to date. In which case
you can manually update using this guide. |
